The beneficial effect of karate training on the cardiovascular system is well documented. There is a direct correlation between physical inactivity the development of coronary artery disease.

There is a relation between the amount of karate training or for that matter any exercise performed per week and the cause of mortality and cardiovascular disease mortality in middle-aged and elderly people, the greatest potential for reduced mortality is in people who do no exercise who become active.

With karate training the intensity of actions varies constantly. There are burst of explosive actions followed by moments of inactivity. That’s why it is equally important for a karate student to develop his or her aerobic and anaerobic capacity.

Karate training develops both, to include aerobic and anaerobic workouts in each class.

Karate endurance can be divided into two categories including: general endurance and specific endurance. It can be shown that endurance in karate training is closely tied to the execution of a technique and the skill required to perform it.
