Tiny Tigers classes are a great activity for 4 – 7 year olds. Those who have studied child development say that these are the most crucial years for young children.
Our Tiny Tigers classes provide a great way to aid in their positive development, their confidence and character building skills. We see many examples of our Tiny Tigers students improving at school by being more confident, focused and sociable as a result of attending our classes. Children will learn co-ordination, balance, focus and the importance of exercise in a fun environment with great role models and meet lots of new friends.
As with most activities for younger children they will learn through play. Our games will ensure they are learning without even realising it!
From experience, we know children of this age cannot commit fully to an activity for more than a certain time, so Tiny Tigers classes are small and just 45 minutes in order to ensure each child gets the instructors full attention.
All of our instructors are DBS checked, insured and first aid trained. We would always encourage parents to check that people who care for your children have these things in place. For this reason, we have ensured our instructors have this information to hand.
Our instructors teach the children the important concept that karate should only be used in self-defence and that the core aspects of karate like control, respect and discipline are paramount.
Children will, learn the basics of physical fitness and coordination become familiar with the elements of traditional Karate and develop self-confidence and self-esteem by developing an “I Can Do It” attitude
The Tiny Tiger Karate Fitness program takes advantage of younger children’s shorter attention spans by incorporating elements of basic physical fitness and traditional Karate into games and activities which focus on the development of balance, concentration, and discipline.
The fun-filled environment encourages participation in activities geared toward the development of, balance and coordination dexterity physical abilities such as throwing, catching and running and karate basics such as punches and blocks.
In a typical class, children do warm-up exercises, basic Karate blocks, punches and kicks along with the associated stances. As they become more proficient with the basics students will learn kata (a prearranged series of movements), prearranged sparring with a partner and self-defence techniques.
