Start Karate As An Adult With Bushido Karate. Friendly Shotokan Classes For Complete Beginners And Over-40s.

Improve Fitness, Confidence And Self-Defence. First Lesson FREE.

You Are Not Too Old To Start Karate, many adults think about learning karate but never start because they believe they are too old,

not fit enough or should have begun when they were younger, that simply is not necessary. At Bushido Karate, adults can start Shotokan Karate with no previous martial arts experience, whether you are in your twenties, forties, fifties or beyond, karate can be adapted to your current ability while still giving you an enjoyable physical and mental challenge.

You do not need to be extremely flexible, You do not need to be super-fit, and you certainly do not need to already know how to fight. You simply need to be willing to learn.

Why Start Karate As An Adult?

Regular karate training can help improve:

  • General fitness
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Stress management
  • Balance
  • Mobility
  • Coordination
  • Self-defence awareness
  • Concentration
  • Confidence

Karate also gives you something that many forms of exercise do not — a skill that continues to develop.

Instead of simply repeating a workout, you learn techniques, combinations, kata, timing, movement and practical applications. There is always something new to understand.

Karate For Over 40s

Training does not have to be performed exactly the same way at 45 or 55 as it might be at 18. Good karate training develops with the individual. Older beginners can concentrate on correct technique, balance, posture, timing, mobility and efficient movement rather than trying to compete physically with younger students. The objective is long-term improvement.

What Happens In My First Lesson?

No. You start from your current level of fitness. Karate itself can help improve your cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility and coordination.

There is no need to get fit before starting karate. Starting karate can be part of the process of becoming fitter.

What Should I Wear?
