Karate can be a fantastic activity for children aged 5 to 7, helping them develop important physical, social and emotional skills at a time when they are growing and learning quickly.

Our Tiny Tigers classes are designed especially for younger children. Lessons are friendly, structured and enjoyable, giving children the opportunity to learn karate while building confidence, concentration and self-discipline.

At this age, children are developing coordination and body awareness. Karate training can help improve balance, flexibility, fitness and movement, while simple exercises and techniques encourage them to listen carefully, follow instructions and stay focused on a task.

There are important social benefits too. Children train alongside others, learning about respect, patience, teamwork and taking turns. They have the opportunity to make new friends and become more comfortable communicating and participating within a group.

Karate also teaches children that they will not always get everything right the first time. They learn to keep trying, practise and gradually improve. This can help develop resilience and a positive attitude towards challenges — qualities that can be useful at school, at home and throughout life.

At Bushido Shotokan Karate, we understand that every child is different. Some Tiny Tigers arrive full of confidence, while others may initially be quiet or nervous. Our experienced instructors encourage each child at their own pace and help them feel part of the class.

Children do not need any previous karate experience, and there is no need to buy a karate uniform before they start.

For parents looking for an activity that combines exercise, learning, confidence and fun, Tiny Tigers Karate provides a positive introduction to martial arts.

Give your child the opportunity to try something new, make friends and discover just how much they can achieve.
